This week, the children have begun making their totem pole masks. We can't wait to see the final result!
This week, the children wrote a character description all about our guided reading character- The Iron Man.
This week the children explored and designed their own totem poles; I was so impressed with their drawings! It was a great opportunity to discuss different beliefs and the importance of spirit animals to some cultures.
This week was science week that investigated change and adaptations! We created our very own habitats for animals and explained why they were suitable for their environment- I was super impressed with the children’s creations.
This week was world book day! The children loved dressing up in their favourite book characters. It was a great day celebrating all things reading!
Welcome back 4TA! This week, the children created their DT book jackets, I was impressed with their resilience when sewing and the brilliant ideas they had. It was lovely to see their designs come to life!
Welcome back! This week the children returned to school after a restful two weeks off. They have been brilliant this week and have impressed me with how well they have settled back in. This was our first star of the week who demonstrated brilliant prior knowledge in our new topics- especially his facts on Ancient Greece- well done!
This week the children have been enjoying doing some “draw alongs” in class, they created some masterpieces including their own cups!
Christmas has arrived at 4TA! The children were super excited on Monday morning to see the class transformation and come face to face with the class elf. I wonder what he will get up to….
This week, we created our class Christmas bunting, they came out so lovely and the children enjoyed making something creative!
This week, we looked at the fairytale of “Goldilocks and the three Bears” but this time we looked at the crimes that Goldilocks may have committed. The children loved this topic and becoming their very own detective.
This week, we looked at friendships and the importance of standing up to bullying.
The children visited the Museum of Power this week. They absolutely loved it as you can see from their happy faces! The learnt about circuits, sounds, explored a miniature village and even went on a train ride around the grounds of the museum. I was so proud of their willingness to learn and try new things.
In honour of Black History month, we did a range of activities today to celebrate this. The children had a go at trying African drumming and learnt about significant people who accomplished amazing things for the black community.
The children were learning all about “The present” this week in English, which is a short clip about a boy receiving a life changing gift. They spent the week immersing into the topic and described how the boy transformed from a lonely, sad child to a happy one full of hope.
This week, we decorated biscuits in preparation for our own biscuit making session next week. The children experimented with different ingredients to make their biscuits more exciting. I was super impressed with the creations!
The race has officially begun this week to the finish line in our Olympic maths race! Lots of the children have already got to our first stop. Great work!
Welcome back Year 4! This week the children have settled back into school nicely and have had an insight into the year ahead. I am looking forward to the exciting year!
