This week we have been learning to subtract using objects. The children have loved using the frogs to see how many are left on the bank after some leapt into the pond!

Week Commencing 16th November 2020

This week the children have enjoyed exploring the story of 'The Little Red Hen'. They have particularly enjoyed our reading challenge. The children read the words and selected the correct word by putting a peg on it. Some children have even managed to write the words in a sentence. The children's reading skills are really developing - well done!

Week Commencing 9th November 2020

Reception have been so busy the last few weeks, exploring a range of exciting ‘Big Questions’ linked to our topics, ‘All about me’ and ‘People who help us’. We have explored eye colour, healthy eating, different job roles of people in our community, customs and traditions of our families or people we may know and retold the story of ‘The Little Red Hen’. The children have really enjoyed learning our story and took part in making their own bread roll to bring home. They followed instructions from the Little Red Hen and all remembered that helping makes every job easier. This week, we have explored Remembrance day, Children in need and Diwali. All of these experiences have enabled the children to talk about the lives of others and how we all have different customs and traditions that we follow within our homes. The children loved creating Mendi pictures for our celebration wall and enjoyed watching clips of fireworks that are used during this festival. We have had a wonderful week and we cannot wait to see what the children achieve next week. Have a lovely weekend Miss Milbourn and Miss Keenan

Week beginning 14th September 2020

The children have settled well into Reception and have been enjoyed playing with lots of different activities and exploring all the different areas. They particularly enjoy playing in our new role play area. We have really enjoyed learning about why we are amazing this week and we have been discussing who we live with, how we help out at home and what we like doing.
