Week Commencing 12th April 2021

This week we planted some beans for Science. We will keep a diary to watch how our plants grow, and see which environment is best for them - in the light or in the dark! 

Week Commencing 15th March 2021

Last week 3NW had a great time creating posters about soil formation in science. They also presented their posters to each other and produced some fantastic discussion around the topic.

 

This week, we have been decorating pictures of Hindu gods using a range of mediums to go on our RE display! 

Week Commencing 1st March 2021

This week, 3NW have had lots of fun for World Book Day. we took part in an 'Extreme Reading' Challenge and had a go at reading our favourite book from strange places around our home. 

 

Some children also created an entry for the 'Illustrate your favourite book character' competition and they are all amazing. We certainly have some fantastic artists in year three!

Week Commencing 22nd February 2021

Year 3 have worked extremely hard this week. We have created 'Wanted' posters in the hope to find the ghastly dragon that was spotted outside our school on Monday! 

 

In Geography, we then learnt all about the Earth's structure and the children came up with some amazing ways to demonstrate this! 

Week Commencing 8th February 2021

For Science this week, 3NW spent their afternoon creating posters or leaflets to demonstrate everything that they have learned about rocks, fossils and soils this half term! By the looks of what they have produced, they have all learnt so much! 

Week Commencing 1st February 2021

Year 3 rounded off their many weeks of learning all about the Stone Age by putting everything they had used into a non-chronological report. They compared different areas of life between the Stone Age and Modern Britain. We had some amazing writing!

 

We have also enjoyed completing a number of activities this week to help us focus on our mental health, which everyone has really enjoyed! 

Week Commencing 25th January 2021

This week, Year 3 have produced some amazing work across all subjects! We have had some extremely descriptive English writing, really impressive scientific diagrams explaining the process of fossilisation and some very imaginative maths games designed and created!

Week Commencing 7th December 2020

The children were not the only ones who returned to the classroom this week! Our cheeky elf, Buddy, has been up to lots of mischief!

Week Commencing 30th November 2020

This week, 3NW have continued working from home and I have seen some fantastic work handed in by the children in our class. We have written a persuasive letter in English, been doing lots of measuring in Maths, learnt about different mountains in Africa and found out about the Muslim prayer ritual - Rakah.

Week Commencing 16th November 2020

3NW enjoyed exploring the force of magnets this week. We went on a hunt around the classroom to find out whether our predictions about which materials would be magnetic were correct or not. 

Week Commencing 9th November 2020

We continued practising our sewing this week for DT. So far we have had a try at running stitch and back stitch  in preparation to create our own pencil cases this half term. 

Week Commencing 2nd November 2020

3NW enjoyed labelling maps. We recalled the 7 continents and labelled a map of Africa. We found bordering countries to Kenya which is our focus country this half term and we also found the capital city!

Week Commencing 19th October

Some of 3NW's artwork created this half term. We had a go at creating different painting techniques and then used a colour wash for our final piece. This week we sketched and shaded pyramids onto  our painting to link with our Egyptian topic.

Week Commencing 5th October 2020

Here we are in 3NW looking very happy to be supporting #HelloYellow Day! We know how important it is to keep our bodies healthy and are learning that it is just as important for us to look after our minds too. 

Week Commencing 21st September 2020

This week, 3NW had great fun exploring the bones within our skeleton and looking at how they protect our internal organs.

Week commencing 14th September 2020

Year 3 spent the afternoon creating colour wheels, having a go and creating different shades using the water colour paints.
